Toronto, Canada. Not even three full months into 2016, Oakville (ON) based, Indie Pop Artist Jules (Collarile) is showing no signs of slowing down. A singer, songwriter and jaw-dropping guitar playing performer has music industry professionals raising eyebrows and declaring, “Canada’s next star is on the rise.” Jules’ shockingly mature lyrics in the entry of her single, Where You Go, co-written with Mark Zubek, in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition was selected as a semi-finalist in the AC category. ISC received, reviewed and juried more than 18,500 entries with Jules and Where You Go landing in the top 10% of all entries worldwide. This group of semi-finalists will be narrowed down to the finalists who will be sent to ISC’s celebrity judges who will then select the winners. Finalists will be announced within a couple of weeks, and winners will be announced once the judging process is completed.
Jules’ fans will not have to wait that long to experience Canada’s emerging indie pop sensation. Up and coming performances include Jules’ opening for the 2nd Annual, Because I’m A Girl Benefit Concert (Hard Rock Café, 279 Yonge Street, Toronto, Saturday, May 28th, 8:30 pm) and the coveted Discovery Series hosted by Jane Harbury Publicity (Hugh’s Room, 2261 Dundas St W, Toronto, Tuesday, May 3rd).
Whether songwriting, recording, performing, or achieving deserved status in worldwide competitions, Jules’ talent is uncommon and definitely uncharacteristic of someone in their teenage years. A music future filled with brimming possibilities and opportunities, Canada’s next star is on the rise – her name is Jules.
